a·bout-face

/əˌboutˈfās/
noun

1. (chiefly in military contexts) a turn made so as to face the opposite direction.

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “if you always do what you always did, then you’ll always get what you always got.”

Unfortunately, the vast majority of people on this planet are perpetually unsatisfied, either because they are living out of alignment with themselves or chasing something they don’t really want. People spend so many years being a certain way or living a certain life that they start to stop thinking that anything else is possible. Such a clear gap between who we are and how we live is evident in the tension, anger, and hopelessness so prevalent in our society.

Why?

We’re not taught to be vulnerable, especially men. We learn to cover up, bury it, and move through life with a false sense of self. The result? Never being able to trust ourselves, feel totally satisfied, and make it through the curveballs life throws at us.

If you want to make a massive change, it takes a massive commitment to turn around and face the other direction. An About-Face. To see the possibilities of a reality you never considered before.

There’s no better way to do this than through embodying vulnerability, a process that discards the ego, challenges our long-held beliefs and identities, and opens the door for pure, unadulterated self-love, resilience, and power.

Once you’ve About-Faced yourself, you can live a life that I like to call in the RAW. It’s not perfect, it’s not always pretty, but it is always YOU.

About Jason Flores

In about three decades, I have experienced more good and bad than some people will in a lifetime. I’ve been in the trenches of the deepest parts of my soul, experienced rock bottom, and found my way to not only come out on top but to help others in their journey.

Why work with me? I’ve been in your shoes.

I’ve climbed the corporate ladder to enjoy professional success without satisfaction.

I experienced childhood as a minority in an all-white school and the corresponding struggles with self-confidence.

As a man, I’ve felt the need to “cover up” my true feelings, discarding vulnerability as weakness.

I hit true rock bottom when, at the height of my life and career, I suffered an instantaneous, devastating cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) at the age of 31. In the blink of an eye, my entire right side was paralyzed and I soon faced cohorts of medical professionals who told me I would never walk or work again.

I had to re-teach myself EVERYTHING. Not only the physical challenges of how to walk, write, drive but the mental challenges as well. How to feel confident, open up to people, date, even how to drag myself out of bed each day and try again.

Since then, I have traveled the world, invested in and studied mindfulness as if it were a college degree, became a Best Selling Amazon Author, co-founded a resilience company, and climbed my way back up the corporate ladder.

The challenges never go away, life is never fully “fixed,” but therein lies the beauty. Over the years, I have combined my own life experiences with the thousands of hours of training and seminars to find a recipe for not only surviving but thriving, even on the days where I too find it difficult to get out of bed.
